Guided Meditation: Returning Home
Begin by finding a comfortable seated position, closing your eyes softly. Take a deep breath in, letting it fill you, and release it slowly… With each breath, feel yourself settling into this moment, into yourself.
"This is how you slip into your home. Just close your eyes and surrender, surrender."
1. Setting the Intention
Take a few moments to become aware of the space around you. Feel the gentle rhythm of your breath, moving in… and out… Trust this moment. Set the intention to return to the sanctuary within.
2. Awareness of the Body
Starting at the top of your head, begin to relax every part of your body. Feel your forehead softening, your jaw unclenching, shoulders releasing, arms, hands, torso, down through your hips, thighs, knees, calves, ankles, and toes… Letting go, more with each breath. Notice how your body feels as it surrenders to the present, to rest, to peace.
3. Coming Home to the Heart
Imagine a warm, glowing light at the center of your heart. This light is a place of pure presence, a space that welcomes you as you are. Each breath softens you deeper into this light. You are safe. You are home.
“Just close your eyes and surrender, surrender.”
4. Breathing into Surrender
Take a breath in… and on the exhale, feel a gentle release, as if you’re melting into this space within. With every exhale, let go just a little more – of tension, of expectations, of anything that does not serve you here. Each breath is an invitation, guiding you closer and closer to your truest self, your sanctuary.
5. Embracing Stillness
Now, allow yourself to simply be here, still and present. Feel the vastness within. This is your home—a place of infinite calm, waiting for you always. With each breath, feel yourself merging more with this sense of home.
“This is how you slip into your home.”
6. Closing and Gratitude
Begin to bring awareness to your breath again, feeling its rhythm without guiding it. Slowly, start to sense your physical body once more, aware of the ground beneath you, the air around you. When you’re ready, place one hand over your heart in gratitude for this homecoming. Know you can return here anytime, simply by surrendering to yourself, to this moment.
Take a deep, grounding breath… and slowly open your eyes when you’re ready, carrying this sense of home with you.
