Om Shanti
The combination of the mantra "Om Shanti" with the affirmation "I am peaceful" is used to promote serenity and peace in the heart and mind.
Mantra: Om Shanti
Affirmation: I am peaceful
Meaning: "Om Shanti" is a classic Sanskrit mantra that means "Peace is within me." Many mantras end with Om Shanti as a call for peace in all aspects of life.
Mudra: Buddha Mudra
Formation of the Mudra: The hands rest on each other with the upper hand forming the Chin Mudra. The active hand rests on the receptive, passive hand.
Effects of the Mudra: The Buddha Mudra is associated with calmness, mental clarity, and self-awareness. It helps promote a state of inner peace.
Meditation: While your hands rest in the Buddha Mudra, breathe in tranquility and peace. As you exhale, release what no longer serves you.
Applications:
For Inner Peace: Use the Buddha Mudra in moments of stress or unrest to promote a sense of calm and serenity. During Meditation: To deepen your meditation and calm your mind. This mudra balances both hands, connecting Ida and Pingala (two major energy channels in the body). We bring ourselves into a state of unity. In Daily Moments: As a reminder to seek and maintain peace in your daily life.
Inspiration
Peace is a harmonizing state of consciousness. You achieve it through practicing yoga postures, conscious breathing, concentration, and meditation. The nervous system calms down and internal organs function better. Your body is purified and your mind settles. A deep body massage also contributes to a sense of peace. Peace is being in connection. When were you peaceful? See the image and breathe this feeling back into your cells. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
Explanation of the Movement
I recommend that you sit on the ground. This provides grounding and better blood circulation in the legs. If the sitting posture in this video is difficult, then sit on a meditation cushion in a cross-legged position. If there is no comfort possible on the ground, then sit on a chair with your feet parallel at hip width. Stay in silence until your mind finds peace. This helps to focus your attention on the breath and turn the senses inward. Repeat the mantra Om Shanti to yourself. I demonstrate various mudras that support a sense of peace. Experience what it is like to open your eyes and still maintain peace within yourself. You connect with the affirmation "I am present in the world while staying in touch with myself."
Om Shanti
I experience serenity and spread peace in the world around me.
